Do it yourself vape, bro? If the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has its will, the answer may soon be a resounding “no.” Last month, the FDA went after Juul, the reigning champion of the e-cigarette industry, and virtually banned the sale of all Juul products in the United States. Of course, Juul fought back, and a judge upheld the order. Now, as Juul fights for his life, the rest of the multibillion-dollar market for nicotine-dispensing technology is rippling in to fill the space.
This week at Gadget Lab, WIRED senior writer Arielle Pardes joins us to talk about Juul’s fight with the FDA and what it means for vaping and nicotine products as a whole.
