Above this setting, you can see how many headphone notifications you have received from your iPhone in the last six months. For a more detailed reading of your headphones’ listening habits, go to the Health app that comes with iOS and select Browse, Hearingand Headphone sound levels. You will be able to see the volume you have been listening to for how long and when.
There’s one more step Apple recommends to make sure it all works properly: classifying your Bluetooth devices so Apple knows how to handle them. Select from Settings to rate a device Bluetooth, and then press the blue info button next to the headphones you are using. Select on the next screen Device type and pick Headphones. (Apple-made headphones will be automatically identified.)
Android
It is harder to find the right setting on Android as the software menus tend to vary between the phone manufacturers. We guide you to the right options on the version of Android that Samsung is pushing out for its Galaxy phones, but if you are using a handset from another smartphone manufacturer, the process should be pretty much the same.
Select from Settings Sounds and vibrations and Bindthen tap the three dots (top right) and select Media volume limit. You can turn on the function here and adjust the slider below to set your desired maximum volume level – it is also possible to set a PIN code to protect this setting (for example, if you configure a child’s phone).
Since Android is Android, there are several third-party apps that you can use to limit the volume of your device. One of the best is freemium Volume lock: It not only lets you limit how loud the volume can go, it lets you do this based on the type of sound, so alarms can go louder than music, for example. A one-time fee of $ 5.49 unlocks all options, but media volume can be limited for free.
Alternatively, give for free Volume limiter, volume lock A look. It allows you to set different volume limits based on the audio outputs you use (speakers or headphones), it sets alerts for high volume directly in the message bar, and it is straightforward and intuitive to use. There is even the option to exclude certain apps from the volume limit.
