Brazilian Guedes says Eletrobras won’t be able to invest enough to keep up with stronger economic growth

REUTERS/Adriano Machado BRASILIA () – Brazil’s economy minister, Paulo Guedes, said Thursday that state- Power utility Eletrobras will not be able to invest enough to keep up with expected stronger economic growth for the coming years. Speaking at an event hosted by the Federal Court of Accounts to discuss Eletrobras’ planned stock offering to raise more funding, Guedes said the privatization process is a “decisive step”.
