Amazon Prime Day is a two-day sale event where Prime subscribers can find hundreds of exclusive offers on products available at the online retailer, though there are plenty of other discounts for non-members. This year, Prime Day is set for July 12th and 13th, but you can already get some pretty cool deals on some of our favorite things. From Amazon Fire-enabled TVs and speakers to third-party devices, here are some of our favorite early Prime Day 2022 deals.
Special offers for Gear readers: Get one 1-year subscription to THE CABLE for $ 5 ($ 25 discount). This includes unlimited access to THE CABLE.dk and our printed magazine (if you like). Subscriptions help fund the work we do every day.

This is our favorite TV for most (9/10, WIRED recommends), and this is the lowest price we’ve ever tracked for the 55-inch model. It has a quantum dot panel for bright colors and uses local dimming zones for deeper black colors in your movies and shows. It has a built-in Roku interface and the Micro-LED backlight delivers outstanding contrast. This agreement is also available at Walmart.
This is one of the most beautiful TVs we have tested. The frame is super slim, the OLED panel is amazing and delivers deep black and rich colors, and it has an Android TV interface, which means you can also cast for it from your phone. It has strange feet at the ends, so it’s best to wall mount it unless you have a large TV stand.
This is a basic beginner-level TV from Hisense, but we like the brand and trust its build quality, unlike some of the other generic Amazon TVs we have not tested. You get Dolby Vision support for high dynamic range (read: more beautiful colors) and a Fire TV built-in to stream your favorite Amazon shows.
If you’ve been looking for an extra large screen, this is one of the best discounts we’ve seen on a 75-inch model in several months. It comes with Fire TV on board for easy streaming and Amazon shopping, plus local dimming in full range means black levels and highlights look better than on cheaper screens.

We’re big fans of the Pixel 6 Pro (9/10, WIRED recommends), which takes great pictures, especially with its 4X optical camera. It has a beautiful 120-Hz OLED screen and it is packed with lots of smart software features that make it a pleasure to use this phone. Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro may be on the way later this year, but this is still a good buy that will last a while.
Samsung’s Galaxy S22 (9/10, WIRED recommends) is an excellent all-around advanced Android phone. It excels in almost every category, and it even gets Android version upgrades longer than the aforementioned Google Pixel (strange, considering that Google maintains the Android operating system). The S22 has a nice size and this sale is on the version with 256 gigabytes of storage space. If you want a larger phone, The S22 Ultra is on sale for $ 1,000. It has a spectacular 10X optical zoom camera that lets you take sharp pictures of objects far away.
The A53 5G (8/10, WIRED recommends) has pretty much all the features most people need, including 5G, NFC for contactless payments, more than a day’s battery life, IP67 water resistance and a MicroSD card slot. Then it goes a step further with advanced perks like a 120-Hz AMOLED display, four OS upgrades plus 5 years of security updates. At this price, it is outstanding value.
WIRED senior associate editor Adrienne So calls the Apple Watch SE (8/10, WIRED recommends) the best Apple Watch for most people, making this a great time to get it at a discount. It does not have all the health features of the advanced Apple Watch Series 7, but it does have most of them that matter in everyday life. Read our Apple Watch Guide for more details.
The M1 chip brought a remarkable and fast departure from Apple’s long-standing Intel processors, giving those of us on the go a little more power for photo editing, music production and a billion Chrome tabs. There’s a new MacBook Air coming next month (it will cost a little more than the current version), but this 2020 model (9/10, WIRED recommends) is still excellent.
The Pixelbook Go is getting a little old, but it’s still an excellent laptop with no frills. It’s a Chromebook, so it’s just a great option for anyone who can work completely outside of the Chrome browser (even though Android apps are available through the Google Play Store). Read our best Chromebook guide for more details.
You will have to buy keyboard attachment to get the most out of this little Windows laptop (any Bluetooth keyboard will work too). Surface Go 3 is not very powerful, but it is good enough for simple tasks such as surfing the web, sending emails, editing documents and watching YouTube.
Amazon device deals
If you’re in a hurry, these are some solid discounts on Amazon-made hardware. However, it is important to know that these devices are likely to dive much further on Prime Day itself. See our best Amazon Smart Speaker, Best Smart Display and Best Streaming Stick guides for more.
I love Echo Dots (8/10, WIRED recommends) more than just any other smart speaker. They are small, sound pretty good and work perfectly for sleep sounds, timers and a quick check of the weather. Last Prime Day, the price dropped as low as $ 25, so it’s worth the wait. Be sure to read our guide on how to make your Amazon Echo as private as possible.
Have you ever been annoyed that you can not find that favorite show or movie? Amazon is probably your best bet because it has a wealth of rental and buying options (in addition to the free Amazon Prime Video content). The included voice remote control makes things even easier in terms of navigation. It’s likely that this unit will drop to $ 25 on Prime Day. We still generally like Roku and Google’s Chromecast With Google TV streaming, so check out our full recommendations before committing to one.
This is the lowest price we have ever tracked for the Fire TV Cube. If you want to control your entire home theater system using your voice, the Fire TV cube is a great option. Just connect all your players and game systems to your dice, then use voice commands to turn things on and off. Although we note in our review, things are not always so smooth.
Echo Show 15 is a great way to put pictures of loved ones on the wall, and Echo Show 5 is a great way to set timers, follow recipes and check the weather. I like to use one in the living room on the wall, and the other in my kitchen. Read our best Smart Display guide for more options.
