TCL 6 Series

It may not look like a deal at first glance, but this is the lowest price we’ve ever tracked for this 55-inch model (it dropped to that price for the first time in mid-June). This is our favorite TV for most people (9/10, WIRED recommends). It has a quantum dot panel for bright colors and uses local dimming zones for deeper black colors in your movies and shows. It has a built-in Roku interface and the Micro-LED backlight delivers outstanding contrast.

This price has recently dropped to the lowest ever. This is one of the most beautiful TVs we have tested. The frames are super slim, the OLED panel is amazing and delivers deep black and rich colors, and it has an Android TV interface, which means you can also cast for it from your phone. It has strange feet at the ends, so it is best to wall mount it unless you have a large TV stand.

This is a basic entry-level TV from Hisense, but we like the brand and trust its build quality, unlike some of the other generic Amazon TVs we have not tested. You get Dolby Vision support for high dynamic range (read: more beautiful colors) and a built-in Fire TV to stream your favorite Amazon shows.

Hisense U8G

Here’s another one that does not immediately resemble a deal, but this price is only $ 2 more than the lowest price we have ever tracked (from earlier in June). The U8G (8/10, WIRED recommends) has an elegant design, an Android TV interface and a raised stand that fits a soundbar downstairs. Its excellent local attenuation provides great contrast to the quantum dot panel, and you also get a 120-Hz screen refresh rate. Pair it with a PC with an AMD card to make use of the AMD FreeSync support for smoother gaming.

If you’ve been looking for a larger screen, this is one of the best discounts we’ve seen on a 65-inch model in months. It comes with Fire TV for easy streaming and Amazon shopping, plus full-range local dimming means black levels and highlights look better than on cheaper screens. It is a Prime-exclusive agreement, so you must be a subscriber.

Everyone should have a soundbar. Streambar combines Roku streaming features with a 14-inch Dolby speaker. While best suited for smaller spaces and TVs, Streambar is likely to make a big difference in the sound quality of your binge-watching experience. There’s even a Night Listening mode that will dampen action movie explosions, so yours Game of Thrones gense will not disturb sleeping roommates.

Roku Streaming Stick 4K

Photo: Amazon

There are newer and slightly more advanced versions of this streaming stick on the market, but the Roku Streaming Stick 4K is still a good option. The Roku interface is one of our favorites, and amenities like voice control and volume buttons add to the list of reasons why we recommend Roku to most people. Just keep in mind that while this is a good deal, it is one we have seen before.

This Roku falls in the middle of the brand’s expansive device lineup, and it fills a gap that your TV may or may not have. It is capable of displaying 4K content in HDR10 on compatible devices. If your TV mentions Ultra HD or High Dynamic Range (HDR), it’s probably one of the models that would benefit from this streaming stick. In addition to better resolution compatibility, Express 4K Plus has voice search and built-in TV controls. This is one of the lowest prices we have seen.

This basic streaming stick does not have a ton of bells and whistles – there is no voice search, built-in volume control or 4K compatibility. What it has is the cheapest price we have seen so far. Roku gadgets are sold quite often, but if you have a very limited budget or you have not upgraded to a 4K TV yet, there is no need to spend extra money. Our guide to the best Roku devices has further details and recommendations.

Amazon device deals

Some of these are exclusive to Amazon Prime members and there is a good chance they will get cheaper when Prime Day begins. The dealers are part of a larger one sales on Amazon devices. Read our guides to the best Kindles, Best Fire tablets and Best streaming devices for further advice.

Amazon Echo Dot (4th generation)

Photo: Amazon

I love Echo Dots (8/10, WIRED recommends) more than just any other smart speaker. They are small, sound pretty good and work perfectly for sleep sounds, timers and a quick check of the weather. Last Prime Day, the price dropped as low as $ 25, so this is one of the lowest prices we have ever seen. Be sure to read our guide on how to make your Amazon Echo as private as possible.

The newer 2021 edition of the Kindle Paperwhite is the best Kindle for most, but the older generation is still solid – and thanks to this discount, $ 50 less. The 2019 version lacks USB-C charging and the improved display of the newer counterpart, but it still has backlighting and adjustable warm lighting. Read more about it in our in-depth review. This deal brings the price down to just $ 5 higher than we saw on Prime Day last year. That Kindle for kids is also on sale. Note: There is a chance that the newer versions will go on sale when Prime Day begins, so keep that in mind if you are in the market.

There is a newer, more expensive generation of this device available, but this is still a suitable option for people who prefer Alexa over Google Assistant. At half discount, it’s worth deferring the extra $ 20 for a larger screen compared to the smaller and cheaper Echo Show 5 (mentioned below). Show 8 is relatively compact, but there is enough screen to allow the fun and junk features on a smart screen, such as viewing recipes or lyrics. The price is $ 5 lower than we have seen before.

Echo Show 5

We generally prefer Google Assistant smart screens over those with Amazon Alexa and prefer the larger, more expensive Echo Show 8 over the Echo Show 5. In our review, we said that the Show 5’s small screen is a bit too small to be able to perform some of the tasks most people want. It’s still a good screen for a nightstand or desk, but if you want more screen property, this may not be the best option. The physical mute button and camera shutter are great – especially since privacy is crucial when dealing with smart devices. This deal brings Echo Show 5 down to $ 10 cheaper than we’ve seen before. Read more about it in our guide to the best smart screens.

This is the lowest price we have ever tracked for Amazon’s fitness tracker. Senior associate editor Adrienne So says it’s comfortable to wear, even though it recommends taking off your underwear to measure body fat composition. It can perform the usual fitness tracker functions, such as tracking steps, heart rate, sleep and oxygen levels in the blood.

This is the best price we’ve seen for the most basic Fire TV Stick. It streams in HD, but not 4K. The interface will feel familiar to people who have used other Amazon smart devices. The remote control has Alexa voice control as well as power and volume buttons. If you have a 4K TV, it’s worth the wait until Prime Day starts watching, though Fire TV Stick 4K comes for sale (it usually does).

Apple Watch SE

Photo: Apple

WIRED senior associate editor Adrienne So calls the Apple Watch SE (8/10, WIRED recommends) the best Apple Watch for most people, making this a great time to get it at a discount. It does not have all the health features of the advanced Apple Watch Series 7 (too for sale for $ 329), but it has most of those that matter in everyday life. Read our Apple Watch Guide for more details.

Fitbit Charge 5 (8/10, WIRED recommends) is our favorite fitness tracker. This is the best deal we have tracked – in fact, the discount brings the price down to match the older generation Fitbit Charge 4. Charge 5’s bright display and many different sensors allow for easy tracking of pretty much any measurement you could want, from the basics like pedometer all the way to heart rate and sleep. Read more about it in our guide to the best fitness trackers.

Fan of Google hardware? We rounded up a separate story earlier this week, although several deals have already expired. Of the remaining discounts include highlights Pixel 6 for $ 571 ($ 28 off), Pixel 6 Pro for $ 823 ($ 76 off)and Nest Wifi Router for $ 110 ($ 59 off),

MacBook Pro 16 inch with M1 Pro

Photo: Apple

Yes, technically, Apple has announced a new MacBook Pro with the M2 chip, but this more expensive MacBook Pro from 2021 and its M1 Pro processor is actually much more powerful. This is the machine for anyone who needs to perform some serious CPU-intensive tasks, from photo and video editing to 3D rendering. It dropped $ 50 lower in April, but it’s still a good deal. This machine has lots of ports, including HDMI, and a 1080p webcam. Read more in our best MacBook guide.

The Pixelbook Go is getting a little old, but it’s still an excellent, no frills laptop. It’s a Chromebook, so it’s just a great option for anyone who can work completely outside of the Chrome browser (even though Android apps are available through the Google Play Store). Read our best Chromebook guide for more details.

This model is specifically not included in our guide to the best Bluetooth speakers, but we generally like JBL products. The compact Go 3 is designed with portability in mind. The robust construction is resistant to water and dust, making the speaker a good companion for hiking or beach trips. Most colors are discounted. This price matches the lowest we have tracked. Several JBL speakers are for sale here.
